We've been hearing reports that Bottoms has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dalton is defended easily by Bottoms. Dalton scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.#TD# Bottoms drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Dalton working a defensive guard but Bottoms passes into half guard.
Bottoms wants to pass to mount but Dalton is defending the position. Bottoms content to control rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. ReConnor working over Dalton with some ground and pound. Dalton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. ReConnor moves into full mount! #TD# Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dalton is being controlled here. Dalton is trying to control Jackson's posture but Jackson avoids it. #SUB# Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #SUB# Jackson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dalton is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jackson yanks on the arm and Dalton is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jackson.
