#R1##TD2# Michael changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Farrell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Farrell is looking to get back to his feet here but Michael is keeping cool and he's managed to take Farrell's back. A lull in the action here.
Farrell trying to control the hands but Michael breaks the grip. Michael is throwing strikes but Farrell counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Farrell regains half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michael controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# Farrell wants to get back to his feet.
Michael is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Michael controlling the pace. #T2# There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Michael is looking to advance position but Farrell won't allow it. Michael thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Farrell's head. Farrell has hold of Michael's hands but Michael slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Farrell is looking to escape. Michael throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Michael is trying to control the action in half guard but Farrell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. #T3# Farrell trying to control here.
Michael with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Michael thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
#REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.#TD2# Michael bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.#ES# Farrell throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Farrell takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
#ROC2# Farrell is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Sol Farrell has been cut.#T4# Michael throws a nice inside leg kick. Oh Farrell is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action!#CL2# Michael instigates a clinch. #TD2# Michael drags the fight down to the ground.
#ES2# The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Michael has his feet on Farrell's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. #TD2# Michael closes the distance looking for a takedown. Farrell stuffs it but Michael still has hold of him. Michael picks Farrell up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Michael slams Farrell to the floor and that's really hurt Farrell - he doesn't know where he is! Michael throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
