#R1# Masato shoots in but no luck this time. Masato shoots in looking for a takedown. Draven tries to sprawl out of it but Masato keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Draven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Draven scores with a hook. Draven throws a nice inside leg kick. Draven looks for the body kick but Masato saw that one coming. Draven cracks the inside of Masato's front leg. Draven turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masato walks forward, straight into a front kick from Draven. Draven throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Masato throws the kick towards the body but Draven avoids it. Draven lands a head kick!

#SU# Draven stands and steps away. Masato gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Draven fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Masato has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Draven lands with a nice body punch. Eric Draven is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice body kick from Draven. Draven throws a right hand that Masato ducks under and follows up with a left that Masato also avoids with ease. Draven throws a nice outside leg kick. Draven lands with a shot to the body. Masato tries for a takedown but Draven sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Eric Draven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kugimiya Masato. That kick from Draven tenderised Masato's leg. Masato is trying to keep his angry face on. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Masato throws a push kick but Draven slaps the foot to one side. #CL# Draven closes the distance and clinches. A short uppercut from Draven. Draven lands a nice shot to the body. Draven pushes Masato back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Draven lands with a light punch inside. Draven lands a nice elbow. Masato is still on wobbly legs! Can Draven finish him?#CUT# It looks like Kugimiya Masato has been cut. Masato takes a shot to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#BC# Draven escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Eric Draven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Masato chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Draven can pounce on him.
Draven fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Masato seems to have recovered his senses. Masato stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Draven. Draven ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Draven throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. #T4# Nice body kick there by Draven. Draven lands a nice shot to the body.
#CL# Draven fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Masato, pushing him back against the cage. Draven lands a hook that snaps the head of Masato backwards. A short right from Draven. A short right hand to the side of the head by Draven. Draven lands a shot to the body. A short right from Draven on the inside. Draven scores with a shot to the side of Masato's head. A short right from Draven. Draven pushes Masato back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Draven is working Masato over against the cage. Masato's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Draven lands an elbow inside that Masato shrugs off. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Masato trying to stall but Draven improves his position.
Draven softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Draven lands with a short shot to the head. Draven unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Masato! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Draven is unloading with more strikes now! Masato drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

#TD# Masato drives through with a takedown into guard. Kretschmer keeping moving, preventing Masato from controlling successfully. Masato tries to free his leg and advance position but Kretschmer is retaining full guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kretschmer can do anything to dispel that myth. Masato showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masato wants to control from the top but Kretschmer keeps moving. #T1# Kretschmer managing to control the position. Masato wants to pass the guard but Kretschmer is keeping the position. Masato throwing strikes but missing. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Masato is pushing down on Kretschmer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kretschmer is fighting to maintain full guard but Masato has managed to sneak the leg through. Kretschmer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Masato. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Masato trying to control the action but Kretschmer is working from the bottom. #SUB# Masato is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

We'll restart on the feet. Kretschmer thuds a left hand into Masato's body. Kretschmer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.#CUT2# It looks like Kugimiya Masato has been cut.#T3# Masato with a poor takedown and Kretschmer counters with a stiff right hand. Kretschmer scores with a body shot.
Masato takes one to the chin there. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Masato. Despite the aggression on Kretschmer's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Masato shoots for a double leg takedown but Kretschmer sprawls well. He's pushed Masato's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kugimiya Masato. That's going to take a lot out of him. Masato takes one to the chin there. Kretschmer digs a good hook to Masato's body.

#R1# A head kick by Sudo misses #TD# and Masato counters with a takedown into side control. Sudo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! You can see the frustration on Sudo's face as Masato controls the position. #SUB# Masato is trying to get an arm triangle but Sudo is defending well. We've been hearing good reports from Masato's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Masato is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sudo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Masato lands some shots froms side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sudo being controlled for a moment. #SUB# Masato is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sudo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #T1##SUB# Masato tries for an arm triangle. #R1# Carpe shoots in and drives through. Masato sprawls well. Masato slaps away a takedown attempt from Carpe, before circling back to the center of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Masato. Carpe throws a right and a left that both miss. Masato appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Carpe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masato sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carpe somewhat. Kugimiya Masato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Carpe. Horrible takedown attempt by Carpe or perhaps it was just good defense by Masato, which made it look bad. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Masato tries a head kick but it misses.
Carpe misses with a takedown attempt #TD# so Masato counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Benneson tries to clinch up but Masato circles away and keeps his distance.#CL2# Benneson clinches up with Masato and pushes him back against the cage.#BC# Masato manages to break the clinch.

More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.#BC2# Kretschmer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Masato shoots for a takedown but Kretschmer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kretschmer displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Masato tries to close the distance and clinch but Kretschmer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Masato shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. #R1##TD# Masato manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Russell on his heels. He'll look to pass Russell's guard now, I'm sure. Masato prevents Russell from getting back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# Masato thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Masato stands and throws Russell's legs to the side, diving into side control. Masato tries to move to mount but Russell blocks the move with his legs. Masato happy to just control the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Masato is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Russell has escaped the position, nice work there. Masato has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.#T1# Masato is looking to take a break and control but Russell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Masato tries to move into full mount but can't pass Russell's legs. Masato is trying to move to mount but Russell reverses beautifully and ends up in Masato's guard. Masato had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. #CUT2# It looks like Kugimiya Masato has been cut. Masato throws a body punch but Russell moves out of range. And Russell tries to counter it with a takedown but Masato pushes his down on his head and steps out.#TD# Masato shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Russell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Masato. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Russell is looking to get back to is feet but Masato passes into side control.
