The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Honsawaskan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Honsawaskan is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilson has wrist control. Honsawaskan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wilson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Honsawaskan throws an elbow that misses. Kiohos throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Wilson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kiohos dives in looking to finish as Wilson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kiohos's strikes! Kiohos is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Wilson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Wilson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

That was a close round but I would say that Joan Wilson will probably get the nod.
