It looked like Nekele wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Reyes throws a series of punches but Nekele moves out of range. Reyes misses with a few strikes there.
Reyes closes the distance and clinches up with Nekele, looking for a takedown. Reyes pushes Nekele against the cage but Nekele circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nekele quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Nekele ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Reyes tries to bum rush Nekele with a series of wild strikes but Nekele uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Reyes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Murha cracks the inside of Reyes's front leg. Murha jabs Reyes to the body, keeping him at a distance. Murha lands a nice shot to the body.
A combination from Reyes does no damage. A thudding body kick lands there by Murha!

Nice work. Christophe Dupree seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dupree pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reyes seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dupree lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Reyes has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Reyes and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Reyes throws a nice looking combination but Dupree bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Reyes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Reyes misses with the combination.

Dupree shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reyes but Reyes pushes him off and we're back to square one. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dupree has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Dupree shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reyes defends it nicely. Reyes throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Dupree's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Reyes dives in looking to finish as Dupree flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Reyes's strikes! Reyes is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Dupree's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Dupree was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
