Berg lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kushida at a distance.
Kushida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've been told by Berg's head coaches at Valhalla Training Camp that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Kushida is rocked!
Berg cracks Kushida with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kushida tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Berg pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kushida is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bunda Berg!
An out of breath Bunda Berg thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.

During a confident post fight interview, Bunda Berg thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.

Berg lands a big uppercut and Kiyasu crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kiyasu looks OK. Berg waves Kiyasu back to his feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Berg walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Kiyasu drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Berg swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Kiyasu's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
