Rydell scores with an uppercut up the middle. Rydell makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rydell is working Nathan over against the cage. Rydell tries to land knees in the clinch but Nathan avoids the damage to the body. Nathan is trying to stall.
Nathan tries to circle away but Rydell has him pinned against the cage. Nathan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nathan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rydell lands with a light punch inside. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rydell lands on the inside with an uppercut. Nathan avoiding damage as Rydell throws knees to the body.

#T1# Nathan jumps guard but Rydell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Rydell tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nathan avoids it. Rydell lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Rydell missing with knees to the body.
Nathan wants a takedown.
Nathan is breathing heavily. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rydell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Nathan takes a shot to the head. Rydell is pressed up against the cage. Nathan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rydell down to the mat. Rydell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Nathan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nathan shoots for a double leg takedown but Rydell sprawls well. He's pushed Nathan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rydell lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Nathan goes down and covers up as Rydell starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

#CUT2# It looks like Dusty Fowler has been cut. Fowler is working for takedown but Nathan is calmly controlling the position for now.#TD# Fowler jumps guard.
#SUB# Fowler is looking for a triangle here but Nathan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
#SUB2# Nathan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Nathan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fowler is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. #T1##SUB2# Nathan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Fowler rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Nathan's guard! Nice work there by Fowler! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nathan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nathan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Nathan trying to control the position.

The fighters land in half guard but Fowler regains guard immediately. #SU2# Nathan stands and steps away. Fowler gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Fowler tries to clinch there but Nathan circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nathan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Nathan advances to full mount. Nathan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#SUB2# Nathan is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Fowler is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Fowler flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Nathan anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Fowler and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Nathan slips an arm under Fowler chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Nathan has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Nathan is squeezing on Fowler like an anaconda would it's prey. Fowler fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

As John Nathan got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I would like to thank my trainer, my manager and everyone else who supported me. Now he can brag to his grand children that he fought the great John Nathan.'.

#R1# A combination from Nathan does no damage. Mcdowell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.#CUT2# It looks like Edmond Mcdowell has been cut.#TD2# Nathan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcdowell napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mcdowell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mcdowell taking a bit of punishment here - Nathan scoring with strikes. #ROC2# Mcdowell is rocked!#SUB2# Nathan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Oh Mcdowell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Nathan lands a strong strike to the head of Mcdowell. That's dazed him! Nathan looking to finish here. Mcdowell is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Nathan lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

#R1# Colon pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. It seemed like Nathan was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Colon really is a fat lump. Colon keeps the fight on the outside. Nathan tries to close the distance and clinch but Colon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Colon attempts a counter takedown but Nathan avoids it well and moves away. Colon tries a head kick but it misses.
Nathan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Colon defends well and Nathan ends up having to push Colon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Colon wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Nathan shoots in for a double leg but Colon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Colon thinks about countering with a head kick. Nathan checks a leg kick. Despite the aggression on Nathan's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nathan misses with a few strikes there.
Nathan shoots in for a takedown but Colon shows good takedown defense. Colon feinted with a counter takedown. Brock Colon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Nathan. Colon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nathan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Colon tries to avoid it but Nathan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Colon to the ground. Colon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #T1# Nathan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Colon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nathan throws a leg kick #CL# and Colon counters by clinching up. Nathan tries to pull guard but Colon holds him up against the cage and eventually Nathan drops back down to his feet.
#BC2# Nathan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nathan shoots in for a takedown but Colon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nathan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#TD2# Colon gets caught flat footed, as Nathan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Colon is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. #T2# Nathan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Colon looks to land a left hand but Nathan moved out of range nicely. Nathan unleashes a big counter combination but Colon bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. John Nathan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nathan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

#ROC# Nathan is rocked! Nathan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Colon cracks Nathan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Nathan is still in real trouble! Can Colon finish him? Oooooh, big shot lands for Colon! Nathan is hurt baaadly! Colon is firing away with more strikes - Nathan is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

#R1##CL# Nathan moves into the clinch. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jenson Jr has eaten all the pies! Jenson Jr being controlled against the cage. Jenson Jr fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jenson Jr is trying to maintain a safe position but Nathan gets an underhook and turns Jenson Jr into the cage. Jenson Jr is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nathan is keeping busy.#BC# Nathan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nathan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Nathan takes a body punch but keeps moving. Nathan needs to keep his hands up - Jenson Jr had a free shot at his head there. Decent striking displayed by Jenson Jr there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nathan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jenson Jr pinned against the cage. #R1# Dingbat throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nathan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dingbat moves into range and connects with a jab. Dingbat misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nathan.

#R1# King wants to clinch but Nathan slips to the side#TD2# and Nathan counters with a shoot takedown. King fights it but they end up in guard. Nathan stays in close to King's body and controls the position. It looks like Nathan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. King trying to keep a closed guard but Nathan is proving a slippery customer.

King really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves.
