#R1##TD2# A momentary lapse in concentration from Nine enables Jitsu to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nine manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Nine keeping moving, preventing Jitsu from controlling successfully. #SUB# Nine looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.#SUB# Nine looking for a guillotine here but Jitsu defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jitsu pushing down on Nine's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #T1##SUB# Nine looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jitsu controlling the action here. Jitsu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jitsu stalling. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. It looks like Jitsu might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Nine trying to control the position from guard on top but Jitsu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jitsu is controlling Nine's posture. Nine prevents Jitsu from getting back to his feet. Jitsu looks winded! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nine slips nicely into half guard. Jitsu tries to roll over but Nine keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jiu Jitsu dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. #R2##TD2# Jitsu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nine was covering up waiting for the punch and Jitsu finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jitsu passes Nine's left leg - he's now in half guard. Jitsu frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The referee warns Nine that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Nine is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at School of Hard Knocks, so we'll see if he gets out of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nine is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Jiu Jitsu has got the better of the ground game so far. Nine has a hand on Jitsu's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jitsu takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!#SUB2# Nine tries to improve his position but Jitsu has taken his back! Jitsu has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Nine tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Jitsu pushes Nine away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

#R1##TD2# Nine drives through with a takedown into Jurgs's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Nine wants to control from the top but Jurgs keeps moving. Jurgs looking for a sweep. Not yet Jurgs, not yet. Jurgs seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Nine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jurgs swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nine postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. My spies in Cozad MMA New York inform me that Nine has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Jurgs pulls Nine in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jurgs's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Jurgs wants to sweep here but Nine controlling him for the moment. Jurgs is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. #T1# Nine won't allow Jurgs to sweep him here. Nine looking to sit in guard and control but Jurgs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR##SUB2# Jurgs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nine has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jurgs has managed to get both his arms back between Nine's legs - danger averted. Nine is trying to keep Jurgs in close.
#SUB2# Nine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jurgs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jurgs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. #T2# The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jurgs lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jurgs preventing the sweep. Jurgs distracts Nine with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jurgs works over Nine with some ground and pound from guard. Jurgs is in close to Nine's body, working some short punches and elbows. Jurgs content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. #ROC# Nine is rocked! Jurgs stands up over Nine, holding on to his feet. Jurgs throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Nine is out cold! Jurgs lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Elof Jurgs! Elof Jurgs was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Nine misses with a hook. Berger ducked under it nicely. Nine throws an overhand right that lands on Berger's shoulder, as Berger tries to avoid the shot. Nine looks to land a left hand but Berger moved out of range nicely. Nine bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. A low kick from Nine misses #TD# and Berger counters with a takedown into side control. Berger working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nine struggling a bit here. Nine tries to buck Berger off but Berger is having none of it. Nine sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Berger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nine does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. #T1##SUB2# Nine is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Berger pulls his head out easily. #SUB2# Nine looking for submissions off his back. Berger looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nine with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nine works his way to full guard. Good work. Berger landing some decent shots from guard. Berger knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nine on the ground.#ES2# Nine kicks Berger off and gets to his feet. Berger could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Nine working Berger over with knees to the body. Nine pushes off an throws an elbow but Berger leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Nice elbow from Nine. Berger is working for takedown but Nine is calmly controlling the position for now. Nine tries to land a knee to the head but Berger blocks with his arms.

A close round but Tech Nine will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Federico Berger's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. #R2##CL# Berger gets in close and instigates a clinch. Nine tries to break the clinch but Berger is controlling the position. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Nine obliges. Nine lands a damaging elbow. Berger takes a knee right on the jaw!
