#R1##TD2# Sanchez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gadelha! Gadelha gets back to half guard. Gadelha might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gadelha is looking for a sweep. Sanchez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.#SUB# Gadelha looking for submissions off his back. The fighters are battling for position here. Gadelha manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sanchez looks winded!#SUB# Gadelha pushes a forearm under Sanchez's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sanchez is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

#R1# Eighteen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.#TD2# Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Eighteen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Eighteen is not content to let Sanchez control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee asks Sanchez politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Sanchez prefers to stall for the moment though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eighteen is looking for a sweep.#T1# Sanchez just content to control the position. #SUB2# Sanchez tries for a kimura but Eighteen is defending well. Eighteen prevents Sanchez from moving into mount. #SU2# Sanchez stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sanchez lands with a thumping leg kick.
#T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sanchez misses with a head kick.
#TD2# Sanchez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Eighteen to the ground. Sanchez is now in Eighteen 's guard. Sanchez looks winded! Eighteen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVR# Sanchez keeping full guard, as Eighteen tries to pass. Eighteen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sanchez's guard. Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eighteen . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Eighteen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sanchez is keeping the position for now. Sanchez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Eighteen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. #T3##SUB# Eighteen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Eighteen wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving. Sanchez keeping full guard, as Eighteen tries to pass. Sanchez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Eighteen . Eighteen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sanchez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Eighteen wants to get up but he can't break Sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Eighteen preventing the sweep. Eighteen trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#TD2# Sanchez scores with a takedown into Eighteen 's guard.#T4# Sanchez wants to stand and escape but instead Eighteen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVR# Eighteen trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Eighteen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Eighteen wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Diego Sanchez will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Sanchez misses with a body shot.
Eighteen half committed to a counter leg kick. Eighteen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sanchez is fending him off so far but Eighteen persists. Nope, Sanchez circles away and we're back to standing.#TD2# Sanchez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sanchez looking to sit in guard and control but Eighteen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Eighteen throwing strikes from guard but Sanchez blocks nicely. Eighteen trying to control but Sanchez is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eighteen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing Eighteen from controlling successfully. Eighteen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sanchez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.#T1# Sanchez wants to get back to his feet but Eighteen is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Eighteen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sanchez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Eighteen wanted to stand there but Sanchez had control of the position. Sanchez keeping full guard, as Eighteen tries to pass. Eighteen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Sanchez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Sanchez is breathing heavily. Eighteen moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.#T2# Eighteen tries to strike from the bottom.
Sanchez is looking to stand up but Eighteen won't let him. Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but Eighteen is retaining full guard. #SUB# Sanchez is posturing up here but Eighteen has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sanchez tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sanchez has to tap! Slick submission there by Eighteen !

#R1# A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanchez is defended easily by Fodetudo. Fodetudo appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Sanchez throws a wild body kick that Fodetudo sees coming a mile off. Sanchez tries to clinch enabling Fodetudo to counter with a crisp jab. Sanchez shoots in but Fodetudo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Fodetudo let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Sanchez fails to land the takedown. It seemed like Fodetudo was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Diego Sanchez. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Fodetudo avoids it really well and circles away.#T1# Sanchez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Fodetudo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Sanchez throws a head kick but Fodetudo moves out of range.
Sanchez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
#CL2# Fodetudo moves into range and clinches up with Sanchez. Fodetudo lands a shoulder strike. Fodetudo scores with a shot to the side of Sanchez's head. Fodetudo lands a hook to the side of the head. Sanchez is working for takedown but Fodetudo is calmly controlling the position for now. Sanchez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
#T2##BC2# Fodetudo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sanchez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Fodetudo catches Sanchez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fodetudo smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Fodetudo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Fodetudo doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Sanchez shoots and misses and Sanchez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sanchez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sanchez throws a body kick that misses. Sanchez throws a leg kick and Fodetudo counters with a straight right hand.#ROC2# Sanchez is rocked! Fodetudo steps in with a hook that catches Sanchez right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Fodetudo follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Sanchez looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xiquinho Fodetudo! A less than humble Xiquinho Fodetudo misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
