Lichen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Motts walks into a straight right hand from Lichen. Lichen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Motts's coach down at Fight Factory was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Motts's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Lichen jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

David Lichen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Motts. Motts drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lichen gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Lyon darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Lyon lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Motts at a distance.
Lyon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Motts swivels and escapes. A nice side step and Motts releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Lyon. Motts is trying to improve his position. Motts is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Lyon takes a little break here. Motts wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Motts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lyon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#SUB# Lyon tries for an arm triangle. Reynolds looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Reynolds throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Motts on the side of the head. Nice straight punches there by Reynolds. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Reynolds. Reynolds throws a hook but Motts avoids it easily. Reynolds lands a right hook to the body.

#R1##TD# Motts shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Freds napping and manages to drive through into side control! Motts lands an elbow. Freds is trying to get back to half guard. Motts working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Freds is trying to escape the position but Motts is controlling the position. Motts's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Freds is looking for a sweep. Motts scoring with punches and elbows. Motts is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Freds's shoulder. That is not cool. #SUB# Motts is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Freds looks calm but he's in trouble here. Motts gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Freds is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Motts lets go of the hold and Freds can pop his arm back in it's socket.

After the fight, Mark Motts was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

#R1##CL# Motts clinches up against the ropes. Tim is trying to maintain a safe position but Motts gets an underhook and turns Tim into the ropes. Motts blocks a body shot from Tim. Tim is looking to control Motts's arms but Motts gets an underhook and turns him. Now Tim has his back to the ropes. Tim is trying to break free. Motts misses with a body punch.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.#TD# Motts wants the takedown. Tim is fighting it off but Motts persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Tim's guard against the ropes. Motts sitting in guard here, content to control. Motts with a nice head shot there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts's corner is telling him to maintain position. Motts trying to control but Tim is working from the bottom. #T1# Motts trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Motts won't allow Tim to sweep him here. Motts tries to land a front kick but Magolis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Magolis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Motts as he jumps to the side. Magolis throws out a loose jab but Motts uses good head movement to avoid it. Motts misses the shot to the body. A shot to the body from Motts misses and Magolis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Magolis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Motts wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A good leg kick by Magolis. #TD# Motts gets a takedown into half guard. Magolis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Magolis wants to get back to full guard but Motts has passed into side control.#T1# Motts is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Nope, Motts circles away and we're back to standing. Motts tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jager manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Motts tries to clinch there but Jager circles away.

Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Motts walks away with a smile on his face. Jager gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jager uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Motts. Motts uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jager.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jager swings for the body but Motts moves out of range.

Jager displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Motts. #T2# Motts throws out a leg kick but Jager moves out of range and Motts only half commits. Motts throws a hook to the side of Jager's head but Jager sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jager swings away with a leg kick that misses. A shot to the body from Motts misses and Jager counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Motts misses with a straight right. Motts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jager swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Motts is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jager sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jager fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Jager. That's going to take a lot out of him. Motts throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

#TD2# and Motts counters with a shoot takedown. Odom fights it but they end up in guard. Odom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Odom keeping full guard, as Motts tries to pass. Motts slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts pushing down on Odom's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #T1# Motts looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Odom with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Motts controlling the action here.#T2# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Motts not landing any meaningful shots this time. Odom won't allow Motts to pass to mount. Odom taking some punishment here, with Motts in his half guard. Odom wants to get back to his feet.
