Alves shoots in for a takedown but Joe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Alves throws a hook to the side of Joe's head but Joe sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Joe doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Alves fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edgar Alves. That's going to take a lot out of him. Joe slips a straight right by Alves. Alves misses with a takedown attempt - Joe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Alves. Joe looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Alves loads up on a big right hand but Joe slips the punch. #R1# Alves throws a body shot but no joy. Alves takes a head kick and keeps coming.
#CUT# It looks like Edgar Alves has been cut. Edgar Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sor Tienpoh scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Alves throws a body punch but Sor Tienpoh moves out of range. Sor Tienpoh throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alves on the side of the head. Sor Tienpoh digs a good hook to Alves's body.
Alves moves forwards but Sor Tienpoh connects with a nice, crisp jab. Alves shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sor Tienpoh as he jumps to the side. Sor Tienpoh feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Alvess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters circle momentarily. Sor Tienpoh darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Whack! Sor Tienpoh lands a heavy head kick that drops Alves. The ref tackles Sor Tienpoh to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Alves was done.

Alves wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working. Joe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Joe. Alves seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Alves cracks Joe with a solid left hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joe is on top in guard.

Alves creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Alves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Belezotto controls the pace. Belezotto wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving. Alves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Belezotto is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves working a defensive guard here.
Alves is pulling down on Belezotto's head. It's preventing any offense from Belezotto, at least for the moment.
