Brooksbank shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A good leg kick by Ahma. Verneri Ahma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ahma chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Brooksbank looks for a takedown but Ahma sprawls well. Brooksbank ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Brooksbank is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Osinen tries to hold on but Brooksbank pushes him away. Brooksbank can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Osinen is looking to escape. Brooksbank avoids the attempt from Osinen to control.#T1# Brooksbank wants to take Osinen's back here but Osinen is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yusuke lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A big left from Yusuke misses. Yusuke closes the distance and clinches up with Brooksbank, looking for a takedown. Yusuke pushes Brooksbank against the cage but Brooksbank circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Yusuke avoids the head kick by Brooksbank.
Yusuke loads up on a big right hand but Brooksbank slips the punch. Yusuke throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Yusuke. Brooksbank lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Left hook, right uppercut from Yusuke. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Brooksbank stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shark swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shark looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Brooksbank trying to control but Shark is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooksbank darts in trying to clinch#TD2# and Yonic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brooksbank won't be happy with that. Yonic controls the position. Yonic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brooksbank. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Yonic is putting a hurting on Brooksbank here, landing some big shots from side control. Yonic creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brooksbank sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. An elbow from Yonic crashes against the mat.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Yonic working his ground and pound in the gym. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We've been hearing good reports from Brooksbank's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Dawson is leaning against Brooksbank and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dawson obliges. Brooksbank tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dawson just stands there and leans against the cage. Brooksbank is trying to break the clinch but Dawson has him pressed against the cage. Dawson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Brooksbank looks winded! Dawson presses Brooksbank against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dawson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Dawson lands a big knee to the head and Brooksbank goes down! Dawson pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

#R1# Baines throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Baines throws a jab but it's blocked by Brooksbank. Baines catches Brooksbank with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Brooksbank ducks under a wild hook from Baines. Baines misses with a hook. Brooksbank ducked under it nicely. A telegraphed right hand from Baines misses the target. Brooksbank fires out a quick counter leg kick but Baines just manages to avoid it. Baines's coach down at Death Valley Training Facility was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Baines's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Brooksbank throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Baines throws an overhand right that lands on Brooksbank's shoulder, as Brooksbank tries to avoid the shot. Baines showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brooksbank.
Baines throws the left hand but Brooksbank avoids the punch easily. Delwyn Baines seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brooksbank tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baines defends well and Brooksbank ends up having to push Baines into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A little jabbing left from Baines on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Brooksbank shoots in and drives through. Baines sprawls well. Brooksbank looks to score with a jab to the body but Baines is just out of range. Brooksbank moves out of range as Baines strikes. A big left from Baines misses. Brooksbank throws a body kick that misses. #KD2# Baines cracks Brooksbank with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Brooksbank looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Baines finish him?

Brooksbank has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.#SUB# Esch wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Brooksbank's closed guard. He's half up but Brooksbank has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Brooksbank pivots and extends the arm, Esch falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Brooksbank! Well done that man!

Brooksbank doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Brooksbank throws a body kick, spinning off balance#TD# and Martin Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brooksbank won't be happy with that. Martin Jr looking to control but instead Brooksbank has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Brooksbank trying to get back to full guard but Martin Jr takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Brooksbank is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brooksbank tries to hold on but Martin Jr pushes him away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin Jr throws some wild stikes that Brooksbank manages to avoid easily.
Martin Jr can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brooksbank is looking to escape. Brooksbank is wriggling around trying to escape.

Vult wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Vult lands with a shot to the body. Brooksbank tries for a takedown but Vult circles away easily and Vult counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Vult gets in close and tags Brooksbank with a short punch that almost sends Brooksbank to the mat! Oh Brooksbank is in big trouble! He turns his back on Vult, trying to create some distance but Vult rushes him, striking wildly and Brooksbank goes down! The referee tackles Vult into the cage to end the fight! Vult is one violent man!
