Kennedy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A good leg kick by Kennedy. John tries a head kick but it misses.
A shot to the liver by Kennedy. Beautiful body shot. Kennedy explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. John tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. John blocks a head kick by Kennedy.
A good leg kick by Kennedy. John tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kennedy quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. John uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kennedy.
#TD# Kennedy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kennedy definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kennedy wants to lay and pray for a moment but John keeps working. John is pushing Kennedy's head away, looking to escape. Kennedy manages to hold on to the position though. Kennedy is looking to take a break and control but John is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. #T1##SUB# Kennedy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB# Kennedy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by John, who protects the arm well. John is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kennedy is controlling him well.#SUB# Kennedy tries for a kimura but John is defending well. John is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#SUB# Kennedy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kennedy prevents John from escaping the position.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. You can see the frustration on John's face as Kennedy controls the position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. John wants to get back to his feet but Kennedy drags him back down. Kennedy throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.#SUB# Kennedy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, John has escaped the position, nice work there. John wants to get back to his feet.#SUB# Kennedy is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. John knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kennedy trying to control the action but John is working from the bottom. #T3# John tries to escape but Kennedy is in control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.#ES2# John throws Kennedy to one side and escapes! A head kick misses from John. Kennedy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. John tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. John misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kennedy fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. John takes a kick to the side of the head.#CUT# It looks like Alan John has been cut.#CL# Kennedy has John up against the cage in a clinch.
Kennedy tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. John looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kennedy trying to stall but John improves his position.
#T4# A frustrated look appears on John's face as he tries to break the clinch. Kennedy prevents John from breaking the clinch. John wants to break the clinch but can't.
#TD# Kennedy drags the fight down to the ground.
John is looking to stand up but Kennedy won't let him. John wants to stand and escape but instead Kennedy has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVR# This has been an exciting period of action! Kennedy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. John is keeping the position for now. Kennedy is looking to work some ground and pound but John has wrist control. Kennedy lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. John wants to stand but Kennedy is controlling the position. John keeping moving, preventing Kennedy from controlling successfully. John is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steven Kennedy dominated that round. The cut man is working on Alan John's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Kennedy throws a head kick that John semi-blocks.
John throws a head kick that misses. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kennedy.
John moves out of range as Kennedy throws a body kick.

John throws a lazy head kick and Kennedy counters with a body kick. John throws a head kick that misses and Kennedy counters with a nice low kick that buckles John's knee momentarily. Kennedy blocks a head kick by John.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kennedy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kennedy cracks the inside of John's front leg. John is breathing heavily. Kennedy blocks a head kick by John.
Kennedy appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice body kick there by Kennedy. Kennedy throws a quick head kick that skims the top of John's head. John tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.#T1##TD# Kennedy drives through with a takedown into John's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.#SUB# Kennedy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Kennedy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed John's guard. Kennedy working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kennedy is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kennedy prevents John from standing back up.
Kennedy uses his free foot to push down on John's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for John. Kennedy with a couple of short strikes.#SUB# Kennedy is working for a guillotine from mount but John frees his head quite easily.
Kennedy lands a big elbow. Kennedy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as John is looking to escape. John wants to get back to his feet.
#T2# Kennedy tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kennedy trying to control but John is having none of it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kennedy won't let John get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. John is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Kennedy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that John can do to turn this around? The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kennedy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
John really wants to buck Kennedy off and get back to his feet. Kennedy pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Kennedy lands a couple of good shots and John has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Kennedy scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. John is looking for a way out. #CUT# That has opened up Alan John's cut even more.#T3##SUB# John is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Kennedy gets his way!
#SUB# Kennedy has his arm under John's chin here. Game over son! Kennedy squeezes tightly and John is forced to tap out!

John is trying to maintain a safe position but Lorent gets an underhook and turns John into the cage. Lorent lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. #TD# John jumps into guard, dragging Lorent to the mat.
#SUB# John throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. John keeping full guard, as Lorent tries to pass. John is trying to control the position from the bottom.
#SUB# Lorent sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. John doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Lorent paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from John - great work!

#R1##TD# Thompson looking to score a takedown here. John is defending well but Thompson drives through and ends up in John's guard. Thompson trying to control but John is working from the bottom. #SUB2# John looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thompson passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John regains half guard. Thompson wants to take a breather but John is having none of it. Thompson missing with the ground and pound from half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are battling for position here. John manages to regain full guard. Nice work. #T1# Thompson wants to control from the top but John keeps moving. #SUB2# John has his foot on Thompson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thompson works his way back into a safe position though. Thompson trying to control the position from guard on top but John is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thompson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. John is keeping the position for now. John is pulling down on Thompson's head to control his posture. #T2# A few boos can be heard. #R1# Smith has a takedown stuffed. Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. It looked like John wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. John throws a hook but Smith blocks it. Smith looks for a takedown but John sprawls well. Alan John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morgannon Smith. John keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Smith tries for a takedown but John sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. John is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Smith. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith. A quick step to the side and John tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Smith moves out of range of the strikes. Smith feints the counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smith shoots in and drives through. John sprawls well. John tries to counter by clinching up but Smith breaks away and moves out of range.#TD2# Smith drives through with a takedown into guard. Smith throws a big elbow that misses. Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.#SUB# John working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but John is tightening it up a little... Smith has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! Nice BJJ there by John!

#R1##CL2# John rushes Rat and presses him up against the cage. Rat is trying to pull guard but John turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.#TD2# John gets control of Rat's arms and successfully pulls guard. John will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. John has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. John looking to control.
