Bobblehead bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bobblehead connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sheven. #TD# Sin is trying to trip Sheven. He has hold of a leg but Sheven is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Sheven bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sin's guard. #REVB# Sin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sheven is one step ahead there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sin is working hard here to advance position. Sheven controls the pace of the fight for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sheven wants to control from the top but Sin keeps moving. Sheven won't allow Sin to sweep him here. #T1##ES# Sin manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sin fails in his attempt to clinch. Sheven now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Sheven throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sin. Sin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sheven makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Sin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Sheven counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Sin darts in looking for a takedown but Sheven gets double underhooks and turns Sin into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lee Sin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sheven is looking to slow Sin down with leg kicks. Sin misses with a straight left. Sheven throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sin cracks a nice hook into Sheven's ribs. Sheven uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sin. As Sin backs off Sheven throws a huge counter combo but Sin manages to avoid it all. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sin tries to clinch and Sheven counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sheven has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Nice body kick from Sin.#T2# Sin loads up on a big right hand but Sheven slips the punch. Sheven tries a quick counter leg kick but Sin is wise to it. Sin fails with an attempt to clinch.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevenson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Stevenson moves into range and connects with a jab. Stevenson scores with a sloppy right hand. Sheven should have avoided that one. Stevenson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stevenson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Stevenson chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Sheven scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Nice shot lands for Stevenson. Stevenson cracks Sheven with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.#ROC2#Sheven is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stevenson cracks Sheven with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sheven tumbling backwards onto the mat. and Gerber counters with a lovely shot to the body. We've been informed that Sheven has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Gerber chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Gerber goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Gerber lands a nice shot that snaps Sheven's head back.

Snitch is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sheven will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Cleary has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Sharven Sheven (ranked 23288 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lazuran Riku (ranked 1281 p4p, 154 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Sharven Sheven! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Lazuran Riku! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Riku has taken the fight to the clinch.
Riku goes for a takedown attempt but Sheven pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sheven fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Riku closes the distance and clinches. Riku jumps guard but Sheven stands there with Riku around his waist. Riku gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Riku ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Riku no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Riku holds on and takes a little breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
