#R1# Santos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bates to score with a decent uppercut. Santos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bates but Bates pushes him off and we're back to square one. Santos looks to throw a body kick and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CUT# It looks like Yoyo Santos has been cut. Bates lands a glancing blow to the side of Santos's head. Santos tries to clinch but fails miserably and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bates digs a good hook to Santos's body.
Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bates's waist but Bates gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side. Bates throws a series of punches but Santos avoids them all with ease. Santos's coach down at Area51 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Santos's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Yoyo Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santos looks to land a body kick but Bates moved away. Santos throws a series of punches but Bates avoids them all with ease. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santos fails in his attempt to clinch. Santos just misses with a punch to the body.

Bates gets through Santos's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Santos misses with a shot to the kidneys.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bates gets through Santos's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. #R1##TD2# Talisay fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Santos to the ground. Talisay is now in Santos's guard. Talisay preventing the sweep. Santos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Talisay looking to pass the guard. Talisay keeps trying to improve his position. Talisay pushing down on Santos's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. #SUB2# Talisay is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Santos doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Talisay. Santos definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Talisay tries to pass the half guard into mount. Santos knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
