Kim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Davis. Keo Kim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Davis. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tyler Davis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL# Kim moves into the clinch successfully.

#R1# Davis misses with a takedown attempt #TD2# and Julyfeather counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. #SUB# Julyfeather has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Davis to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Julyfeather is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Davis pulls down on the head and he's put Julyfeather to sleep! This one is all over!

Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tyler Davis and Dai Aoki. Tyler Davis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Tyler Davis! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Dai Aoki! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Aoki throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aoki is in Davis's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Davis (0) vs (2) Aoki Aoki controls from within his opponent's guard. Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Aoki defends well. Aoki slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis wants to get back to full guard. Aoki perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Davis tries to roll over but Aoki keeps him under control. Aoki wants to pass to mount but Davis is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Aoki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Aoki works his way back into a safe position though. Aoki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aoki controls from within his opponent's guard.

Aoki is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Davis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Aoki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Davis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Aoki engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Aoki passes Davis's left leg - he's now in half guard. Aoki wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs. Aoki is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
