#R1# Pierce throws a head kick that half lands.
#TD2# Gauthier is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pierce's half guard. Gauthier is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gauthier throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Gauthier not doing much here.
#T1# Gauthier's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pierce keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gauthier looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice sprawl there from Gauthier as Pierce shoots in. Despite the aggression on Gauthier's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.#TD2# Gauthier fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pierce to the ground. Gauthier is now in Pierce's guard. Pierce not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gauthier throws a big right hand that misses. Gauthier sitting in guard, not really doing much. Gauthier lands a couple of decent looking shots.#T2##SU2# Gauthier gets to his feet - Pierce follows without any prompting. Some bone on bone action there as Pierce checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Pierce tries to clinch up but Gauthier circles away and keeps his distance. Pierce tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. #TD2# Gauthier bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Pierce is breathing heavily. Gauthier advances to full mount. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#SUB2# Gauthier is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Pierce is forced to tap! Great finish!
