Liang not doing much here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Slater pushes Liang off looking to stand but Liang dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Liang thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Liang slows the pace down in half guard. Liang scoring with strikes to the body and head. #T1##SUB2# Liang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Liang prevents Slater from standing back up.

Pope can't do much from the bottom here. #SUB2# Liang is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pope has escaped the position, nice work there. Liang trying to control the action but Pope is working from the bottom. #SU2# Liang decides to stand back up. Liang steps back and let's Pope get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pope ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Liang moves away.#TD2# Liang shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pope is trying to defend but Liang finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Liang tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pope knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. #T1# Pope manages to get to full guard.

Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Liang is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sanchez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liang missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Liang knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanchez on the ground. Well, if Liang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Sanchez is in trouble now - Liang has advanced to mount! Sanchez working to try and regain half guard.

Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt.#TD# Liang dives in and scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.#ES2# Sanchez manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.#T4# Liang gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sanchez.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Liang. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zhao Liang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liang shoots in but no luck this time. Sanchez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Liang sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanchez somewhat. Liang lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Liang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. And Sanchez tries to counter it with a takedown but Liang pushes his down on his head and steps out.#T2##TD# Liang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. #ES2# Sanchez wriggles free and stands up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sanchez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Liang is looking for a counter combo. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sanchez throws a half hearted mid kick. Liang fails with the takedown. Sanchez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.#TD2# Sanchez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Liang tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Liang looking very determined here, making life difficult for Sanchez.
