#R1##TD# A momentary lapse in concentration from Dain enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dain's guard. Diaz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #SUB# Diaz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dain defends it well. Dain is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dain avoid being mounted? Diaz scores with a couple of good hammerfists.#SUB# Diaz is working for a kimura but Dain is defending it quite comfortably.
#SUB# Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dain is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold. Dain on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Dain moves to clinch but Gambino breaks away and Dain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CL# Dain clinches up with Gambino and pushes him back against the cage. Dain looking to throw knees to the head but Gambino is blocking nicely.
Gambino is trying to break free. Dain swings wildly with an uppercut but Gambino uses good head movement to avoid it. Dain is trying to pull guard but Gambino has him pressed against the cage. Dain wants to clinch and Gambino cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Dain closes the distance but Gambino moves to the side and Gambino counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Dain darts in trying to clinch and Gambino counters with a stiff right hand. Dain moves in looking to clinch but Gambino pushes him off. Dain misses with a right hand enabling Gambino to counter with a crisp jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dain tries to close the distance and clinch but Gambino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've been told by Dain's head coaches at Ionad Comhrac that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gambino lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Dain checks a low kick from Gambino. Donk. Gambino catches Dain right on the button with a cross. Gambino has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gambino connects with a nice looking jab.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gambino wants to control from the top but Dain keeps moving. Trap Gambino has got the better of the ground game so far.#ES# Dain manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Dain no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. #ES# Dain has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gambino has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Gambino is pressed up against the cage. Dain has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gambino down to the mat. Gambino avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Dain tries to clinch there but Gambino circles away.
Gambino feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Dains jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Gambino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

He's got his arms around Dain's waist but Dain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Clegane off to one side. #CL2# Dain clinches. Dain is looking to take this one to the mat. Clegane tries to pull guard but Dain forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Dain working aggressively here.

Clegane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dain walks away with a smile on his face. Clegane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Clegane shoots in and drives through. Dain sprawls well. Dain is fighting to break Clegane's control of his arms but Clegane is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Clegane utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Clegane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dain tries to avoid it but Clegane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dain to the ground. Dain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dain has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Clegane is breathing heavily. Dain waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Clegane.#KD2# Dain lands a big right hand that sends Clegane crashing to the mat! Dain stays standing though and waves Clegane back to his feet!#CUT2# It looks like Horace Clegane has been cut. Dain lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Clegane falls backwards - clearly groggy! Dain dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
