#R1# Chung throws a combination that misses #TD# and Maia counters with a single leg into guard. Chung didn't expect that. #SUB# Maia has gone for a leg lock! Chung slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maia's guard.#REVB# Chung forces his way into half guard. Chung lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. #SUB# Maia looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chung moves into full mount! Maia won't be happy about that! Maia is squirming around, avoiding Chung's attempts to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# Maia is in all sorts of trouble here.

Maia wants to hold on but Chung pushes him away. Maia is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Chung is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Chung lands a couple of good shots and Maia has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Maia is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Chung seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Chung drops an elbow to the side of Maia's head. Chung is nestled in close to Maia, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. This has been an exciting period of action! Maia won't allow Chung to pass to mount. #SUB2# Chung is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Maia sees it coming and defends easily. Maia wants to control but Chung is keeping busy.

Nice strikes from Chung there. Chung looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maia with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Chung passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Maia! Chung passes into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. He's simply no match for Chung on the ground. Maia trying to keep a closed guard but Chung is proving a slippery customer.

Maia has hold of Chung's hands but Chung slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Chung takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Chung landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. #SUB# Maia looking for submissions off his back. Chung perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #T4# Maia on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Chung has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Chung has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maia tries to hold on but Chung postures up. Chung lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chung raining down shots from the mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Chung cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Chung landing punches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chung sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Maia tries to lock up and control but Chung gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Chung tries to control but Maia wriggling away. Chung with shots to the head and body - Maia looks very uncomfortable down there. #T4# Maia is in a horrible position here. Chung smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight! Wang Chung comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Chung has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

#R1# Nice takedown defense from Van Hoost. No joy for Maia on that attempt. Van Hoost looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Maia is fending him off so far but Van Hoost persists. Nope, Maia circles away and we're back to standing. Van Hoost moves into range and connects with a jab. Van Hoost is looking to clinch. Maia attempts a counter takedown but Van Hoost avoids it well and moves away. A nice combination there by Van Hoost.
Maia misses with a double jab.
Van Hoost throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily. #TD# Maia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Maia lands strikes from half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maia trying to pass the guard but Van Hoost defending well. Van Hoost is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. #T1# Maia is controlling the pace.
