#R1# Headland swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gibbs tries to close the distance and clinch but Headland swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Headland is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Headland scores with a nice right hand.
#CUT2# It looks like Jarod Gibbs has been cut. Gibbs avoids a punch combination nicely.

Gibbs misses with an elbow over the top. Headland wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gibbs has him pressed against the cage. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Headland prevents a body shot from Gibbs. #T1# Gibbs tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Headland avoids it. Headland wants to break free but Gibbs has control.

He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.#BC2# Headland's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.#T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gibbs tries to clinch there but Headland circles away.
Headland lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Headland throws out a loose jab but Gibbs uses good head movement to avoid it. Headland looks to land a combination but Gibbs avoids it well. #CL# Gibbs closes the distance and clinches. Headland blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Gibbs goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Headland throws a right and a left that both miss. Gibbs ducks under a wild hook from Headland. Gibbs fires out a quick counter leg kick but Headland just manages to avoid it.#KD2# Headland lands a left and a right that send Gibbs crashing to the mat, dazed. Headland thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Headland throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sloppy strikes from Headland. Those never looked like landing. #T4# Gibbs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've been informed that Headland has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Headland tries to bum rush Gibbs with a series of wild strikes but Gibbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gibbs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Headland Throws a clean left jab. Headland Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Gibbs's chin! Gibbs crumbles to the ground and Headland follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Headland!

#R1# Headland misses with a double jab
#TD# and Handleman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Headland's guard. Headland is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Handleman dives into side control.
#REVB# Handleman is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Headland will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. You can see the frustration on Headland's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Handleman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Handleman just content to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Handleman working the ground and pound from side control. Handleman looking to control but Headland is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Handleman landing strikes from the mount and Headland is in trouble! You get the feeling that Headland really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've been hearing that Handleman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Handleman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Headland can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

He's pulled Handleman in close but Handleman has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Headland survive? More strikes from Handleman and Headland is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

As Kelvin Handleman got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: It's official the champ and I are now both 4-0. Billy! I want my title shot and tell Darcy I'm coming for my motherfuckin belt!'.

#R1##CL# Nash gets a clinch. Nice elbow from Nash. Nash tries to break free but Headland pushes him back against the cage. Nash is trying to pull guard but Headland has him pressed against the cage.#BC# Nash manages to break the clinch.

#KD2# Headland drops Nash with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nash looks back up at him and smiles so Headland waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
#ROC2# Nash is rocked!#CUT2# It looks like Rodger Nash has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Headland throws a series of punches but Nash moves out of range. Oh Nash is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Headland keeps the fight on the outside. Headland circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Nash tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Headland wins by KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Nick Headland! After winning the bout, Nick Headland thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
