Tio throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Medzatirious was covering up waiting for the punch and Tio finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Tio working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Medzatirious's head.
Tio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Medzatirious will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Pugh is fighting off a takedown attempt but Medzatirious is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pugh to the mat. Pugh regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Medzatirious working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Pugh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
