#TD2# Steve gets control of Rommero's arms and successfully pulls guard. Steve will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Rommero lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rommero has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.#SUB2# Steve working for a triangle but Rommero defends it easily.
Steve managing to control the position. Rommero wants to stand but Steve has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Steve has a loose triangle. #R1# Akerman with a nice cross. Good standup being displayed there by Akerman as he connects with a hook. Akerman moves out of range as Steve strikes. Akerman scores with a hook. Steve just misses with a punch to the body.

#TD# Steve jumps guard and drags Akerman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Akerman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steve swivels though and keeps the full guard. #SUB# Steve has his foot on Akerman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Akerman works his way back into a safe position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steve looking for a sweep. Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Donnie Steve! A very excited looking Donnie Steve rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
