Koniu is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at St Petersburg MMA Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Koniu pushes Pack away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pack gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Pack working the head with strikes. #CUT2# It looks like Japa Koniu has been cut. Koniu is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Koniu trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Koniu takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Koniu is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Koniu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pack on the ground. Pack with a lazy takedown attempt and Koniu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Koniu works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Koniu moves into range and connects with a jab. A nice combination there by Koniu.
#CUT# It looks like Stewart Pack has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Koniu cracks Pack with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Japa Koniu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pack wants to clinch.#T2# Koniu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pack's hands. Koniu uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. and Koniu counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pack has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Koniu finds it's way round the side to connect with Pack's head. Pack shoots in for a double leg but Koniu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Japa Koniu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stewart Pack. Koniu swats away the attempt to clinch by Pack. Koniu works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Koniu punishes Pack's body with a nice straight punch. Koniu catches Pack with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!#T3# Nice shot by Koniu. Koniu scores with a punch to the head. Koniu throws a right and a left that both miss. Koniu drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Pack right on the button. Pack goes down! Koniu follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Koniu gets the win via TKO!

Sampson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pack under the eye.#CUT# It looks like Stewart Pack has been cut. Sampson scores with the left hand. Pack knows he should have avoided that one. Sampson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pack.#CL2# Pack moves into the clinch. Sampson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pack swings wildly with an uppercut but Sampson uses good head movement to avoid it. Pack lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Pack has a couple of punches blocked by Sampson.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Pack wants to control from the top but Sampson keeps moving. That is naaassty. Pack throws a strike aimed at the side of Wood's head but Wood avoids it well. Pack working the ground and pound. Wood is trying to improve his position. Pack lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Wood down.

Pack working the head and body with strikes. We've been hearing good reports from Wood's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. He's got his arms around Pack's waist but Pack gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side. Pack half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Pack throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Pack scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pack postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. #ROC# Smith is rocked! Pack loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pack trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith looking to sweep here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pack scoring with some ground and pound. Pack postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Smith covers up, he's hurt! Pack keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Pack and the ref steps in to end the fight! Pack can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

#R1# Smith is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pack sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. #TD2# Pack changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Smith looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#ES# Smith bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Pack scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though. A looping hook to the body misses from Pack. Smith does a little dance to reset his feet. Pack throws a low kick but it's checked well by Smith. Smith misses with a head kick.
Smith has a takedown stuffed. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.#TD2# Pack gets a takedown into half guard.#SUB# Smith looking for submissions from an awkward position here.#T1# Pack moves into full mount! Smith won't be happy about that! Pack takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Pack lands a big shot there that rocks Smith but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
