Jab, jab by Henchoz - just one landing. Henchoz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Salvador. Salvador could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Henchoz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Salvador.
#CL# Salvador darts in and clinches Henchoz up against the cage. Henchoz lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. #TD# Salvador ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Salvador no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Salvador is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Henchoz postures up.

#R1# Salvador scores with a nice strike.#CUT2# It looks like Barry Horowitz has been cut. Salvador changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Horowitz tries to avoid it but Salvador manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Horowitz to the ground. Horowitz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Salvador closes this distance looking for a takedown but Horowitz circles away. Horowitz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Salvador doesn't manage to clinch there - Horowitz circles away.
Horowitz checks a leg kick nicely. A counter left hand to the body from Horowitz misses its target. Horowitz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Horowitz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Horowitz wants it to stay on the feet. Barry Horowitz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. #CUT2# It looks like James Cessmore has been cut. Salvador lands a lovely overhand right. Freddie Salvador seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Salvador connects with a high kick. Salvador gets in close and tags Cessmore with a short punch that almost sends Cessmore to the mat! Oh Cessmore is in big trouble! He turns his back on Salvador, trying to create some distance but Salvador rushes him, striking wildly and Cessmore goes down! The referee tackles Salvador into the cage to end the fight! Salvador is one violent man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddie Salvador! Freddie Salvador seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website. No luck for Salvador with that takedown attempt. Callahan slips a jab and a cross from Salvador.
#TD# Callahan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salvador is trying to defend but Callahan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Salvador should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Callahan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salvador is controlling Callahan's trapped leg to prevent Callahan from advancing to side control. Lacplesis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#TD# Salvador scores with a takedown into Lacplesis's guard. Lacplesis keeping full guard, as Salvador tries to pass. Salvador is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Salvador pushing down on Lacplesis's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lacplesis pushes Salvador off looking to stand but Salvador dives back in and keeps control.

#TD2# Shaw darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salvador pushes Shaw off looking to stand but Shaw dives back in and keeps control.
Shaw seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Salvador knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shaw on the ground. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Salvador. Johnson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Salvador misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
