Boon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Ray takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ray throws a shot from downtown. Boon moves away and avoids it. Ray misses with a double jab.
Ray swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Boon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ray swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boon avoids the body shot from Ray.
Ray throws a series of punches but Boon moves out of range. Boon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Boon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ray counters with a left to the body. Ray lands with a shot to the body. Ray looks to score with a jab to the body but Boon is just out of range. Boon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ray circles away quickly and effectively. Ray lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ray throws a body shot but no joy. John Boon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T1# Ray darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Ray ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Boon moves away. Boon drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ray throws a series of punches but Boon moves out of range. Ray fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Boon manages to avoid it. Boon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Decent striking displayed by Ray there. Boon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ray.
Boon wants to counter the offense by Ray and move into the clinch position. Ray lands a head shot.#ROC# Boon is rocked! Ray throws a monster overhand right that drops Boon! Ray follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

#R1# Mousasi walks into a stiff left hand from Ray. Ray lands a nice shot to the body.
Mousasi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mousasi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mousasi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mousasi unleashes a big counter combination but Ray bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Mousasi tries for a takedown but Ray circles away easily and Ray counters with a nice body shot. Mousasi misses with a takedown attempt and Ray counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ross Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gegard Mousasi. Nice body punch from Ray. Mousasi looks winded! Ray scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mousasi doesn't seem bothered though. Mousasi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ray finds it's way round the side to connect with Mousasi's head. Ray lands with a cross. Ross Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ray lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mousasi at a distance.
Ray dips to his left and cracks Mousasi with an uppercut! Ray punishes Mousasi's body with a nice straight punch.#T1# Ray lands a jab. Ray lands with a nice body punch. Mousasi takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ray lands with an overhand left.#ROC# Mousasi is rocked! Ray digs a good hook to Mousasi's body.
Mousasi is still on wobbly legs! Can Ray finish him? Ray connects with a body shot that sends Mousasi's belly button to the back. Mousasi seems to have recovered his senses. Mousasi takes one on the button. Ray lands a body shot.
Ross Ray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ray fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Mousasi to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Mousasi looks to clinch but Ray throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Mousasi taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

#R1# Nemitz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nemitz misses with a double jab.
Nemitz fails with a takedown attempt. Ray fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nemitz manages to avoid it. Some wild striking there from Nemitz.
Ray lands a nice looking body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nemitz misses with an uppercut. Nemitz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Nemitz looks to land a combination but Ray avoids it well. A punch combination from Nemitz misses. #T1# Nemitz gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Ray gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ross Ray! A very excited looking Ross Ray made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

#R1# Jones fails in his attempt to clinch. Ray was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ray throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ray's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ray duly obliges. #CUT# It looks like Travis Jones has been cut. Jones is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Ray lands a nice shot to the body.
Ray jabbing away but nothing is landing. Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Jones fails with a takedown attempt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Ray misses the shot to the body. Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Ray circles away.

Jones takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jones looks winded! Jones tries to move into range but Ray moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Jones gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Oh this is bad for Jones! Ray dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
