Kubilay shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Lynn counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akkan Kubilay. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kubilay misses with a takedown attempt and Lynn counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kubilay thinking. Akkan Kubilay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#TD# Kubilay closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lynn to the mat! Lynn manages to get full guard. Lynn has Kubilay pulled in close to control his posture. Let's hope that Lynn has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kubilay tries to free his leg and advance position but Lynn is retaining full guard. #T1# A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lynn holds on and takes a little breather. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Lynn. Lynn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kubilay manages to get himself to full guard.

Kubilay seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. #REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Our spies down at at Hey Steves Fight Shack inform us that Lynn has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Lynn is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lynn gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lynn gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lynn apologises and we restart here on the feet.

#R1# Urameshi cracks Kubilay with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Urameshi changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. We've been informed that Urameshi has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Urameshi throws a hook but Kubilay blocks it. Kubilay throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Urameshi tests Kubilay's chin there with a solid looking shot. Urameshi blocks a head kick by Kubilay.
Urameshi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kubilay doesn't seem bothered though. Kubilay is breathing heavily. Jab, jab by Urameshi - just one landing. Urameshi cracks Kubilay with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kubilay tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Urameshi pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kubilay is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

#R1# We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Seehaver checks a leg kick. Kubilay throws a body punch but Seehaver moves out of range. Seehaver changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Kubilay swings away with a leg kick that misses. Seehaver attempts a counter takedown but Kubilay avoids it well and moves away. Kubilay has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Seehaver is landing a low percentage of strikes. Kubilay thows a left - swing and a miss! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Seehaver shoots in for a double leg but Kubilay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kubilay flicks out a counter leg kick but Seehaver steps away. Seehaver shoots in looking for a takedown. Kubilay tries to sprawl out of it but Seehaver keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kubilay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #T1# Seehaver fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fjeld has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Kubilay is really squeezing tight and eventually Fjeld passes out! Ipa has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ipa accidentally thumps the mat. Valerdi is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kubilay is one step ahead and moves to full mount!#SUB2# Kubilay looking to secure an arm triangle but Valerdi defends it well. Valerdi has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Valerdi has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kubilay has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Valerdi taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. #TD# and Kubilay counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kubilay wants to pass the guard but Speilding is defending well. We've been hearing good reports from Kubilay's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Kubilay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Speilding's head. Speilding won't allow Kubilay to pass to mount. #SUB# Kubilay seems to be working for a kimura but Speilding defends the submission attempt. Kubilay winds up and cracks Speilding with a swinging punch to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Speilding is controlling Kubilay's trapped leg to prevent Kubilay from advancing to side control. Cross stands up over Kubilay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cross working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kubilay lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVB# Cross is trying to control the position but Kubilay postures up. Kubilay sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cross's guard. Cross is trying to stand.
Kubilay is keen to just control but Cross is a slippery customer. Cross is holding on to half guard well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cross is looking to control Kubilay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cross avoid being mounted? Kubilay looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cross with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
