#R1##TD# Steel gets the takedown into side control. Saromenko manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Saromenko slows the pace down in half guard. Saromenko wants to stand but Steel has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Saromenko sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steel keeps control of the position for the meantime. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steel won't allow Saromenko to pass to mount. #T1# Saromenko missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Steel is not content to let Saromenko control the position. Saromenko stalling. Saromenko wants to pass the guard but Steel is defending well. #T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Steel tries to get to full guard but Saromenko has control of the leg. Saromenko controlling the action here. #TD2# Saromenko feints and as Steel raises his hands in defense, Saromenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saromenko wants to get up but he can't break Steel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Saromenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Saromenko not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Saromenko holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.#SUB2# Saromenko actively working from the bottom here.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#TD2# Steel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Saromenko to score an easy takedown into full guard. Steel keeping moving, preventing Saromenko from controlling successfully. #T2# Saromenko tries to free his leg and advance position but Steel is retaining full guard. Saromenko is looking to stand up but Steel won't let him. Saromenko stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Saromenko's corner is telling him to maintain position. Saromenko tries to stand but Steel is controlling from the bottom. #T3# Steel wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.#CL2# Saromenko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Steel drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
#BC2# Saromenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. #TD# Saromenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.#T4##SUB2# Steel got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saromenko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Steel has managed to get both his arms back between Saromenko's legs - danger averted. Saromenko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.#SUB2# Saromenko has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Steel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Saromenko. Saromenko prevents Steel from moving into mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Saromenko tries to buck Steel off but Steel is having none of it. Josh Steel has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vitali Saromenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Both fighters take a look at the clock.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Vitali Saromenko. Well Saromenko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
