Riggs closes the distance and clinches up with Kanon, looking for a takedown. Riggs pushes Kanon against the cage but Kanon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Riggs doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kanon counters with a right hand to the body. #CL2# Kanon moves into the clinch.#TD2# Kanon gets control of Riggs's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kanon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Kanon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Riggs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#TD2# Verschot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Riggs sprawls well initially but Verschot persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Verschot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Riggs's head. Riggs manages to get to full guard.
Verschot is stalling in the full guard. Riggs pulls Verschot in close to prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Verschot in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. #T1# Verschot is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Efala is looking to stand back up but Riggs counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Efala. #REVB# We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Riggs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Efala defending well though. Riggs sitting and controlling from the half guard.
