Rooney bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Rooney throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ray stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ray looks for a takedown but Rooney sprawls well.
Rooney pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ray throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ray throws a low kick but Rooney moves out of range easily.
Ray tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rooney defends well and Ray ends up having to push Rooney into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rooney raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

and Rooney counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ross Ray. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ray is pressed up against the cage. Sloan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ray down to the mat. Ray avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
No luck for Sloan with that takedown attempt.
Ross Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sloan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ray somewhat.#T1##TD2#

Cooley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ray walks away with a smile on his face. Cooley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL#

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcel Merrill.
I think Merrill has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
