#R1# Sloppy strikes from Kitten. Those never looked like landing. Keith Kitten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kitten tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oyama sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kitten somewhat. Oyama tries to counter by closing the distance.#CL# Kitten gets in close and instigates a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oyama is trying to pull guard but Kitten has him pressed against the cage. Oyama tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kitten smiles and moves away.
Kitten closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oyama circles away. Oyama has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Kitten fails to land with a series of punches.
#TD# Kitten looking to score a takedown here. Oyama is defending well but Kitten drives through and ends up in Oyama's guard.#T1# Kitten stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oyama swivels though and keeps the full guard. #SUB2# Oyama is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kitten rolls with it to try and escape but Oyama cranks on the arm and Kitten is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Masutatsu Oyama! The defeated Keith Kitten had this to say: 'I know I am gonna get sacked by my manager now...damn'.
