But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Barkley, into his guard. #REVR##SUB2# Barkley looking for subs off his back but Clements has passed one foot through into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clements landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. #T1# Barkley tries to roll over but Clements keeps him under control. Clements wants to take a breather but Barkley is having none of it. Clements really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Giannos working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Giannos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clements holds on and takes a little breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Giannos throwing strikes from guard but Clements blocks nicely. Clements has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
