#R1# Shlemenko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Shlemenko has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Lindhaus slips a jab and a cross from Shlemenko.
Lindhaus takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Shlemenko avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shlemenko throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lindhaus.#CUT2# It looks like Leon Lindhaus has been cut. Shlemenko slips a jab from Lindhaus. Shlemenko throws out a counter right but Lindhaus avoids it with no problem. Shlemenko throws a head kick but Lindhaus moves out of range.

Merrill shoots in for a takedown but Lindhaus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.#CL2# Lindhaus instigates a clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Lindhaus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Lindhaus looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Merrill controls Lindhaus momentarily but Lindhaus frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lindhaus wants to stand but Merrill is controlling his posture from full guard. Lindhaus looking to control the position here, rather than advance. #T1# Lindhaus trying to control the position from guard on top but Merrill is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Merrill seems a little lost for a moment, as Lindhaus dominates the positioning. Merrill wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Merrill is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Merrill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.#T4# Lindhaus pulls Merrill in close to prevent any damage. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lindhaus is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.#SUB# Merrill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lindhaus, who protects the arm well. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Merrill dodges the punch combination from Lindhaus.

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. No, Lindhaus has managed to get both his arms back between Merrill's legs - danger averted. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lindhaus wants to control from the top but Merrill keeps moving. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lindhaus tries to clinch but Merrill moves out of range. It looked like Merrill was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Lindhaus throws a combination. That's better than Lindhaus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!#ES# Merrill throws Lindhaus to one side and escapes! Both fighters are breathing heavily.#T4# Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Merrill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lindhaus pinned against the cage. Lindhaus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Leon Lindhaus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.#CL2# Lindhaus closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. #TD# Merrill drags the fight down to the ground.
