De La Hoya shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #ROC# De La Hoya is rocked! Kawaguchi jabs De La Hoya to the body, keeping him at a distance. De La Hoya is still on wobbly legs! Can Kawaguchi finish him? De La Hoya on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. De La Hoya seems to have recovered his senses. De La Hoya looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. De La Hoya with a poor takedown #CL# and Kawaguchi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kawaguchi. Kenny Kawaguchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce De La Hoya. Kawaguchi works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kawaguchi scores with a shot to the side of De La Hoya's head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kawaguchi lands a left hand.
De La Hoya looks winded! The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Kawaguchi lands a right hand. #T1# De La Hoya goes for a takedown attempt but Kawaguchi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kawaguchi is stalking De La Hoya. De La Hoya circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Kawaguchi, and it's lights out! De La Hoya really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

#R1##TD# Schmidt scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Schmidt working over De La Hoya with some ground and pound. De La Hoya looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Schmidt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. #SUB# Schmidt is looking for a kimura here.
De La Hoya tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. De La Hoya tries to roll over but Schmidt keeps him under control. Schmidt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. De La Hoya throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. De La Hoya manages to get to full guard.
