Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Vlad Halen (ranked 8908 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Leek (ranked 9286 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Vlad Halen! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Johnny Leek! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Halen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Halen lands in his opponent's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Halen (2) vs (0) Leek Leek can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Halen controls the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leek controls Halen momentarily but Halen frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Halen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Halen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Leek for as long as he can get away with. Halen tries to free his leg and advance position but Leek is retaining full guard. Leek is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Halen is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halen continues to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leek keeping full guard, as Halen tries to pass. Halen advances position into side control! Score +3 for passing guard: Halen (5) vs (0) Leek Leek is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Leek is letting Halen control him for a moment. You can see the frustration on Leek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Halen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Halen moves into full mount! Score +2 for reaching mount: Halen (7) vs (0) Leek Halen working for a submission but Leek is keeping him at bay. Halen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Leek is looking to improve his position but Halen isn't that keen on the idea. Halen moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Leek has worked his arm free - good work by Leek!
Halen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Halen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Leek has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Leek's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Leek is looking to regain half guard here but Halen keeps moving and retains side control. Halen tries for a kimura but Leek is defending well. Halen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Halen advances to mount. Score +2 for reaching mount: Halen (9) vs (0) Leek Halen controlling his opponent. Leek is trying to escape the mount but Halen keeps good control and instead manages to take Leek's back.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Halen is riding his opponent, not letting Leek buck him off. Halen is persistently looking for the submission but Leek is defending it well.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Halen controlling the positon. Leek really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. More hug and hope from Halen. Leek preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Halen. Leek is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Halen gets his way!

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Leek trying to control the position but Halen manages to sink in the hooks. Halen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Leek has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Halen is hanging on to Leek's back as he tries to escape.
Halen is riding his opponent, not letting Leek buck him off.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Halen is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Leek with him. Leek is trying to defend but Halen has an arm under the chin now! Leek grimaces and is forced to tap out!

#R1# Kleitos misses with a lunging right hand
and Leek counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Leek throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kleitos's head.#CUT# It looks like Minos Kleitos has been cut. Leek ducks right into an uppercut from Kleitos. Minos Kleitos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kleitos waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Leek. Kleitos smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Kleitos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Leek takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Leek throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Leek keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
An attempted straight right counter from Leek misses the target. Kleitos thows a leg kick but Leek checks it and Leek counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. This has been an exciting period of action! Kleitos throws a hook but Leek avoids it easily.#CL2# Kleitos clinches up against the cage. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Kleitos. #BC2# Kleitos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Leek connects with a leg kick. Kleitos looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. #T1# Kleitos pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Kleitos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Leek takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
#ROC2# Leek is rocked! Leek moves out of range of the strikes. BOOM! Kleitos lands a beautiful left hook that drops Leek. Leek tries to recover but Kleitos is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Leek lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Minos Kleitos!
