#R1# MacBain throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jagannath's waist but Jagannath gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MacBain off to one side. Jagannath shoots in looking for a takedown but MacBain manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jagannath's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. MacBain lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jagannath takes a step back to recover. MacBain dives in for a single leg takedown but Jagannath sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.#TD# Jagannath shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jagannath was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!#ES2# MacBain throws Jagannath to one side and escapes! Jagannath walks into a straight right hand from MacBain. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. MacBain lands a slapping body shot.
MacBain fails with the takedown and MacBain takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CUT# It looks like Mercer MacBain has been cut. Jayson Jagannath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mercer MacBain. Jagannath changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. MacBain tries to avoid it but Jagannath manages to keep hold of a leg and drag MacBain to the ground. MacBain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from MacBain is defended easily by Jagannath.#T1# Jagannath moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Jagannath circles away from the clinch attempt.
MacBain misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. MacBain fails with a takedown attempt. MacBain fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#T2# MacBain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.#CL# Jagannath closes the distance and clinches. Jagannath tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
MacBain wants to break the clinch but can't.
#TD2# MacBain pulls guard effortlessly. Jagannath wants to stand and escape but instead MacBain has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. #REVB# MacBain trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jagannath's guard.#SU2# MacBain stands up from Jagannath's guard - MacBain perhaps looking for a knockout. #T3# MacBain shoots in but doesn't get the takedown #CL# and Jagannath moves into the clinch.#BC# Jagannath breaks the clinch.
Jagannath closes the distance and lands a one-two. Jagannath is breathing heavily. Jagannath throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. MacBain is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Nice body kick from MacBain. Jagannath fails with a takedown attempt. Some wild striking there from MacBain.
#T4# MacBain is looking to clinch but Jagannath is avoiding it.
#TD2# MacBain closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jagannath quickly recovers to half guard. MacBain working Jagannath over with strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!#SUB# Jagannath looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.#SUB2# MacBain maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jagannath could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but MacBain has cracked it and Jagannath is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by MacBain!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mercer MacBain! Mercer MacBain spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
