Magnunsen creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Lawler with a big uppercut! Lawler tries to clinch up but Magnunsen pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Lawler to the mat! Lawler covers up and Magnunsen unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Thor Magnunsen!

A relieved looking Thor Magnunsen thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Gene Lawler stepped up to the mic, saying 'I got robbed!'.

Warren fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Warren loads up on a big right hand but Lawler slips the punch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lawler moves out of range as Warren strikes.
Lawler tries for a takedown but Warren sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lawler tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Warren defends well and Lawler ends up having to push Warren into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Warren has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Jackson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lawler has locked up a guillotine! Lawler's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Jackson is holding on here and Lawler must be using up a lot of energy. Jackson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lawler gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
