Sears dives in for a single leg takedown but Manson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Manson fails to land the takedown.#TD2# Sears closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Manson quickly recovers to half guard.#SUB2# Sears is looking for a kimura here.
Manson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sears is working away from the top position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sears lands with a nice combination. Manson backs away looking to recover. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Manson shoots for a takedown but Sears saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Manson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sears shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Manson as he avoids it easily. #CL2# Manson tries to keep at a distance but Sears has taken the fight into the clinch. Manson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sears to keep the fight standing. Walter wants to control but Sears is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sears trying to mount his opponent but Walter defends it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sears perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. #SUB# Sears is working for a kimura but Walter is defending it quite comfortably.
Sears content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. #T1# Sears's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Walter has hold of Sears's hands but Sears slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Walter has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Walter jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sears walks away with a smile on his face. Walter gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Walter misses with a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD# Sears feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sears forces his way into half guard. Sears is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Walter can do to turn this around? The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sears lands a nice short elbow.#SU# Sears stands, ready to strike. Walter pushes Sears against the cage but Sears circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Walter is breathing heavily. Walter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sears scores with a hook to the body. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sears manages to end up in side control. Walter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
