Sanchez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A nice inside leg kick there by Mauler. That's going to slow Sanchez down. Sanchez tries to clinch up but Mauler circles away and keeps his distance. Mauler throws a quick inside leg kick. Mauler connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sanchez's hands. Mauler lands a right hook to the body.

Sanchez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nagai to score with a decent uppercut. Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch but Nagai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jab by Nagai. Sanchez throws a one two combo.
Sanchez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nagai throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. A chopping leg kick lands by Nagai. Nagai blocks a low kick nicely. Baccalieri waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sanchez. Sanchez misses with a shot to the body and Baccalieri counters with a right hand to the body. Nice defenses there by Sanchez. Sanchez throwing a counter right hand but Baccalieri manages to avoid it. Baccalieri cracks Sanchez with a right hand to the side of the head. Baccalieri jabs Sanchez to the body, keeping him at a distance. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. That's better than Sanchez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sanchez trying to control the position but Pearson is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sanchez laying and praying for a moment but Pearson takes advantage and regains half guard.
