#R1##TD# Nichols closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bamba's guard. Nichols is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#ES2# Bamba pushes Nichols off and gets back to his feet.
Nichols shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bamba but Bamba pushes him off and we're back to square one. A shot to the liver by Bamba. Beautiful body shot. Bamba stuffs the takedown. Bamba cracks Nichols with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nice uppercut lands for Bamba. That snapped Nichols's head back.
#CUT2# It looks like Jimmie Nichols has been cut. Rocky Bamba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bamba stuffs the takedown attempt from Nichols. Nichols gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Bamba throws a body punch but Nichols moves out of range. Bamba cracks Nichols with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nichols tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bamba pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nichols is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

#R1# Nichols fails with the takedown and Helix counters with a nice uppercut. #CUT2# It looks like Jimmie Nichols has been cut. Helix misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nichols with a poor takedown and Helix counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nichols thinking. Helix looks to score with a jab to the body but Nichols is just out of range. Helix scores with the left hand. Nichols knows he should have avoided that one. Nichols is trying hard to land a takedown here. Helix sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nichols gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Helix counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Nichols badly! Helix follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Nichols out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Helix finished him against the cage.

Rich escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #TD2# Rich shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nichols is trying to defend but Rich finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nichols trying to control from the bottom.

Nichols misses with a strike from the bottom. Nichols tries to get back to half guard but can't. Donter is looking to take a break and control but Nichols is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Donter working away. Donter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nichols keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SU2# Donter stands up and we're back to a striking position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donter misses with an uppercut
