#R1# Rea is looking to clinch. Rea tries to clinch up but Vazquez circles away and keeps his distance. No joy there for Rea, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
#TD2# Rea fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vazquez to the ground. Rea is now in Vazquez's guard. Rea working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vazquez swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vazquez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rea pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vazquez is keeping the position for now. Rea in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. #T1# Vazquez controls Rea momentarily but Rea frees himself. Rea throws a big right hand that misses. Rea throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rea throws a strike but Vazquez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. #REVR# Vazquez is in close to Rea's body, working some short punches and elbows. Vazquez postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vazquez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Vazquez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. #SUB# Vazquez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rea should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.#T2# Vazquez chips away with some ground and pound. Vazquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Vazquez throwing strikes but missing. Vazquez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Rea looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vazquez is one step ahead there. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.#T3# Rea tries to clinch up#TD# and Vazquez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rea's guard.#ES2# Rea scrambles and gets back to his feet.
#CL2# Rea drives through and clinches with Vazquez against the cage.
Vazquez prevents Rea from breaking the clinch. Rea is trying to force a seperation but Vazquez has the dominant position. Rea wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vazquez has him pressed against the cage.#T4##TD2# Rea ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rea no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Vazquez looking to sit in guard and control but Rea gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVB# The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rea with a flurry of punches that miss. Rea trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Vazquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vazquez is looking to stand up but Rea isn't so interested in that idea. Rea throws a big right hand that misses. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rea trying to control the position from guard on top but Vazquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rea loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Rea dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. #R2# Rea lands a body shot.

Rea has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#BC# Vazquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

As Rea tries to get set, Vazquez tries to push him back and clinch up but Rea manages to avoid the attempt. Rea tries to clinch but Vazquez is having none of it. #KD2# Rea drops Vazquez with a beautiful combination! Vazquez stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rea is looking for the KO!#CUT2# It looks like Henry Vazquez has been cut. Rea fails in his attempt to clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. No joy there for Rea, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vazquez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Rea manages to circle out of the way. Rea throws a lazy head kick #TD# and Vazquez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rea won't be happy with that. Rea bucks up and tries to throw Vazquez off but instead Vazquez has got his back!#T1##SUB# Vazquez patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Vazquez punches Rea on the ear. Rea looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vazquez.

#SUB# Vazquez is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Rea has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Vazquez keeps control of the position as Rea tries to break free.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Rea. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.#T2# Vazquez lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Rea.

Will Vazquez go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Vazquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Vazquez lands a shot to the body. #T3# A bit of a pause in the action here. Vazquez controlling the positon. Vazquez has the hooks in. Rea is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Rea just trying to survive but Vazquez is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rea takes a big shot to the side of the head.
