and Jacobs scores with a counter punch that sends Alves to the canvas! Jacobs smells blood - he's punishing Alves with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Alves has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Alves shoots in for a takedown but Vinyard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A slapping leg kick lands for Vinyard.

Vinyard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alves, pushing him back against the cage.

Vinyard throws a big uppercut that drops Alves! More strikes from Vinyard and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Alves lies dazed against the cage as Vinyard celebrates with his cornermen!

Alves looks to throw a body kick#TD#
and Valentine counters with a single leg into guard. Alves didn't expect that.
Alves is looking to stand up but Valentine isn't so interested in that idea.
Alves has Valentine pulled in close to control his posture.
Valentine is in close to Alves's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Alves is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB#
Alves wants to take a breather but Valentine is having none of it.
Valentine is looking to control Alves's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Valentine avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valentine is concentrating on defense, preventing Alves from advancing position.
