#R1# Simmons changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jogan tries to avoid it but Simmons manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jogan to the ground. Jogan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jogan is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.#TD2# Jogan gets a double leg takedown into Simmons's guard. Jogan works over Simmons with some ground and pound from guard.#ES# Simmons pushes Jogan off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Simmons tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jogan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Simmons somewhat. Simmons throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jogan moves in looking to clinch but Simmons pushes him off. Simmons wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Jogan fails in his attempt to clinch. Simmons dives in and grabs Jogan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jogan pushes down on Simmons's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyrone Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jogan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Simmons's calf. Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jogan as he avoids it easily. #T1##TD2# Jogan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Simmons tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jogan is in Simmons's guard.#ES# Simmons manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.#TD# Simmons is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jogan can't fight it off and eventually Simmons manages to take the fight to the floor. Jogan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Simmons is breathing heavily. Jogan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Jogan has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Las Vegas. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Jogan trying to keep a closed guard but Simmons is proving a slippery customer.

Simmons loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jogan working a defensive guard here.

Jogan throws a strike but Simmons avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Jogan throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jogan throws an elbow that misses. Simmons uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jogan's guard. Nice move by Simmons!#REVR# Simmons throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jogan works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tyrone Simmons will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Simmons circles away from the clinch attempt.
#TD2# Jogan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jogan misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Simmons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jogan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jogan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Simmons sneaks back into half guard. Simmons is looking to control Jogan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Simmons avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simmons looks like he's trying to stand up.

Jogan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jogan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jogan slips a jab and a cross from Simmons.

#T2# Jogan putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Simmons is squirming around, avoiding Jogan's attempts to control the action. Jogan thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Jogan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Simmons's face.
Roe Jogan has got the better of the ground game so far. Jogan throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.#T3##SUB2# Jogan quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Jogan but it's paid off an Simmons is forced to tap! Nice work by Jogan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#TD2# Jogan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nelson is trying to defend but Jogan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Nelson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jogan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Nelson's head. Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jogan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jogan's back! Nelson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Jogan's body.
Nelson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nelson is hanging on to Jogan's back as he tries to escape.

There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.#SUB# Nelson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jogan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jogan has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Nelson has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Jogan taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Nelson doesn't care though - he's delighted!
