It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ward wants it to stay on the feet. Ward is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Ward scores with a shot to the body.
Ramirez shoots in for a takedown but Ward shows good takedown defense. Ward jabs Ramirez to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ramirez tries to clinch up and Ward cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ward swings and misses with a hook to the body.

#R1# Byers shoots for a takedown but Ramirez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ramirez throws a fast counter high kick but Byers manages to duck under it in time. Byers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ramirez avoids it really well and circles away. Byers looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jacques Byers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Byers tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Ramirez wants to counter with a clinch but Byers pushes him away. Ramirez wants to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez looks for the body kick but Byers saw that one coming. Nice sprawl there from Ramirez as Byers shoots in. Byers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#CL# Byers moves into the clinch successfully.
