The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Tereshchenko doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fjera moves into the clinch.

Fjera pulls Tereshchenko into guard.
Fjera seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Tereshchenko wants to pass the guard but Fjera is keeping the position.

Fjera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tereshchenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tereshchenko manages to work his way to half guard, despite Fjera's best efforts.

Tereshchenko won't allow Fjera to pass to mount.

Tereshchenko is staying active underneath Fjera, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tereshchenko makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tereshchenko.
Tereshchenko is pulling down on Fjera's head. It's preventing any offense from Fjera, at least for the moment.

Tereshchenko wants to sweep but no luck.
Fjera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tereshchenko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fjera drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tereshchenko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tereshchenko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tereshchenko!

Fjera can't do much from the bottom here.

Tereshchenko has hold of Fjera's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fjera tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Tereshchenko cranks the arm and Fjera screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fjera, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
