Wilkinson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wilkinson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gotch is keeping the position for now. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wilfred Wilkinson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wilkinson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Wilkinson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Moonmen - Rick and Morty. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Roger Gauthier! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Wilfred Wilkinson! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Gauthier forces Wilkinson back against the cage and clinches. Gauthier jumps guard and drags Wilkinson to the mat. Wilkinson prevents Winters from breaking the clinch. Winters tries to circle away but Wilkinson has him pinned against the cage. Wilkinson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Winters gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Wilkinson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Winters avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Wilkinson is breathing heavily. Wilkinson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Winters lands a right hand. Wilkinson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Wilkinson prevents Winters from breaking the clinch. Winters lands a nice uppercut. #R1# Wilkinson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Taylor sprawls well. Taylor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wilkinson gets slowly back to his feet. Taylor with a nice cross.#KD2# Taylor cracks Wilkinson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Taylor has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Wilkinson to stand back up! Wilkinson switches off momentarily and Taylor cracks him with a monster right hand! Wilkinson topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Taylor dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Taylor!
