#R1# Erlingr throws a hook to the side of Cage's head but Cage sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Cage feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Erlingr's calf. Cage blocks a jab. The crowd cheers as Cage lands an impressive looking overhand right. Erlingr doesn't seem phased though. Cage bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Cage looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Erlingr throws a jab but it's blocked by Cage. Erlingr misses with a straight left. Cage moves away from the strike by Erlingr. Erlingr throws a right hand that misses
and Erlingr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Erlingr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cage swats him away and circles back towards the center. Erlingr throws a body punch but Cage moves out of range. Cage blocks a jab. Erlingr misses with an uppercut. Cage appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Erlingr throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cage feints and then cracks Erlingr's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Erlingr down. Erlingr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cage sees it coming and avoids it easily.#KD# Cage throws out a head kick that Erlingr doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Erlingr crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Erlingr's eyes and has decided to let it go on!#ROC# Erlingr is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Erlingr tries to clinch but Cage is having none of it. Cage feinted there with a counter leg kick. Erlingr wants to clinch but Cage slips to the side and Cage counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Cage! After the fight, Johnny Cage was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
