We've been told by Lancaster's head coaches at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

and Mechanic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mechanic has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lancaster is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Mechanic looks for a takedown but Lancaster sprawls well.
Mechanic takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mechanic is pawing at Lancaster, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Lancaster's nose. Lancaster is badly hurt! Mechanic pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Lancaster tries desperately to hold on but Mechanic is relentless in his assault! As Lancaster receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Mechanic away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tyreke Mechanic!
Tyreke Mechanic gave a mention to Free Bands inc. in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Nick Lancaster spoke after the fight, saying 'Shit happens man...I'll be back.'.
