Best defends it easily.#SUB2# Monteiro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Best gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Monteiro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Best manages to get himself to full guard.

Gmo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Best's head backwards. Best has a takedown stuffed. Best throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
#TD2# and Gmo counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gmo has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Best is proving hard to escape from. Best is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Best is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Gmo wants to stand but Best is controlling his posture from full guard. Best shoots in for a takedown but Perkins shows good takedown defense. Best shoots in looking for a takedown. Perkins tries to sprawl out of it but Best keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That was a close second round but I would say that Jerrod Best will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
