#R1##TD# Silva gets caught flat footed, as Linkletter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Linkletter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Linkletter landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is looking to stand back up but Linkletter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silva. Silva wants to get back to his feet. Linkletter is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Linkletter is trying to work for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Linkletter working Silva over with strikes. #T1# Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Linkletter in particular looking to stall.#SUB# Linkletter wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Linkletter lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Silva hang on? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Linkletter lands with some strikes. Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Linkletter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Linkletter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silva looks a forlorn figure.
Linkletter breaks from Silva's wrist control and lands an elbow. Linkletter is in the full mount, landing strikes. Linkletter content just to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Linkletter dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Linkletter's shoulder, as Linkletter tries to avoid the shot. Linkletter feinted with a counter takedown. Linkletter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

#CUT2# It looks like Richard Linkletter has been cut. Silva throws out a powerful jab. Silva swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Linkletter.#TD# Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Linkletter to score an easy takedown into full guard. Linkletter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Linkletter is working Silva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Linkletter passes Silva's left leg - he's now in half guard. #T1# Linkletter controlling the pace. Linkletter works his way into full mount! Silva really wants to buck Linkletter off and get back to his feet. Richard Linkletter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Linkletter scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Linkletter lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.#T2# Linkletter scoring with strikes but Silva is staying in there. Linkletter has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.

Linkletter lands a couple of good shots and Silva has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Silva is still in real trouble! Can Linkletter finish him? Silva is breathing heavily. Linkletter lands a big shot to the side of the head and Silva goes limp! He's out cold - the ref jumps in to save him from more punishment!
